HIPAA HITECH SECURE MESSAGING for Smart phones running Android, Iphone, or Blackberry software is available to keep your patient information confidential. Using SSL/TLS encryption we send your messages directly to your phone without using the cell phone carrier’s text messaging service which eliminates the possibility of your messages being intercepted.
Secure Messaging is also guaranteed message delivery. Each message we send is maintained in our system and when a message is read our staff receives notification so you know your patients are well taken care of. In the event you are in a bad coverage area or your cell phone battery is low we will be aware that you haven’t picked up your message and can use other methods to reach you.
Secure Messaging allows two way communications with our operators so if you receive a message from a patient and need them to proceed to the emergency room or call the office the next day our operator can deliver the message.

We started preparing for HIPAA four years before its implementation and when HIPAA HITECH was mandated we were already protecting all of our clients more than two years before required to under the new rules took effect.
All of our telephone operators and management staff undergo ongoing HIPAA training to ensure they are protecting our clients and the privacy of their patients.. In addition to classroom training our staff is subjected to random testing to make sure they are always 100% compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
All of MedConnectUSA employees are required to sign a legally binding confidentiality agreement.
All telephone records, messages, and digital voice recordings are backed-up in multiple layers providing the best recovery in case disaster strikes. We also maintain a complete copy of all records in an offsite vault for additional protection.
All conversations between callers and our operators are digitally recorded for later recall. MedConnectUSA follows all state and federal laws regarding recording of telephone conversations.
We use multiple telephone carriers and data providers to protect against disaster. Our providers use land based, wireless, and satellite communications for the best coverage.

Secure Digital Storage – We maintain an encrypted electronic copy of all information (client information, messages, voice recordings, and other information) in our onsite storage vault which is only accessible by two keys maintained by different managers in addition to a monitored secure alarm system.

HIPAA Compliant – All information transfer to and from our call center is in strict compliance with HIPAA/HIPAA HITECH laws.
Multiple Levels - Data Back-up and Storage(on-site and off-site). All information is stored on site as well as off site at Iron Mountain.
Emergency Back-Up - We know without electric power we are out of business. Our main power source is backed up by a Minute Man UPS battery system able to power all systems for more than 2 hours. In the unlikely event that we suffer an extended power loss we have a Generac 100KW natural gas/propane generator that is able to supply power for an unlimited amount of time.
Redundant - By keeping redundant telephony providers, power sources, and back up offices we know we will always be here when you need us most! .
Security – All access to our facilities is restricted to employee’s only and security access is maintained by a card key/pass code system. Our centers are monitored 24/7 by closed circuit TV both on and off site. Any documents leaving our offices are destroyed on site by a certified document destruction company.
We provide all clients with a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) that is designed specifically for our industry. This BAA goes beyond the boilerplate BAA’s to further protect your office.
